Just a gentle reminder, the ASMBA STAR Foundation will be hosting a charity golf fundraiser titled “Swinging Fore Heroes” at the Fort Sam Houston Golf Club on Thursday June 9th. 100% of the net proceeds from this charity event will go directly toward supporting the Foundation’s core purpose of helping our wounded warriors, their families, and the military community.
We still have a few team/individual slots available. Participants can expect a great round of golf with cart, a continental breakfast, an awards luncheon, plenty of snacks, player gifts, team awards, and prizes. There’s also a chance to win a car by scoring a hole-in-one! But even more importantly, you’ll have the satisfaction in knowing that you’re helping these brave soldiers and their families.
The ASMBA STAR Foundation places a special emphasis on assisting “grass root” organizations run predominantly by volunteers that focus on: providing support for combat wounded service members; support to military member families; scholarships for military members and their families; and support for patriotic activities. Unfortunately, the U.S. Government cannot possibly meet all the needs affecting our veterans and their families during their time of emotional crisis. Likewise, as a single organization we cannot possibly meet all the needs surrounding veteran care and family support.
However, with the generous support of our sponsors, our golf participants, and private donors, the ASMBA STAR Foundation can stay proactive in expanding our capacity to properly vet and administer to those “grass-root” non-profit organizations willing to make a difference in the lives of those who have unselfishly defended our way of life.
